We sat down on the grass in Dupont Circle this past Sunday afternoon to read for awhile and then play some Gin Rummy. I’m slowly mounting my comeback on our official, all-time card game leaderboard (the back of a junk-mail envelope with lots of tallies on it now). Matt is still up by 200-something points, but I’m making headway after having been down by like 400. And anyways, we were about to leave, and when I looked up, we were sitting directly in the longest-shadow-ever of that tree.
