I hope everybody had a great memorial day weekend. My weekend was spent doing a whole lot of nothing. I did go down to Kent Island to visit my friend. I figured that was me going to “the beach” because technically I crossed the bay bridge, even though I immediately got off at the next exit. But it did remind me a lot of my carnie days spent in Ocean City manning such attractions as the “Squirt the water in the clown’s mouth game” and the gigantic plastic lemon that, you guessed it, served lemonade. Down on “Crocodile Isle” as the Kent Islanders call it, there was a great breakfast place I went to that also reminded me of this place I used to work at in Ocean City. Smelled of paneled wood, greasy eggs, and stinky tourists.
I also hope that everybody out there in Juxta World remembered how awesome the military is and how banging the United States is (F*CK YEAH!). I showed off my pride by wearing the old red white and blue out Sunday night. I was accused of being a republican because I was passionately telling people about how I love holidays were I can wear red white and blue and I especially love 4th of July because I get to wear my Kenny Chesney tie-dye t shirt and American Flag bandana. For some reason, that coupled with the fact that I drive a truck and smoke cigarettes, made me a republican to this random drunk guy. Oh well, I told him that in fact, I was a raging liberal and I don’t think that taking pride in your country makes you a democrat or republican, it just makes you an American. Then I did what any true blue would do and eminent domained his land, forced him into socialized medicine, took 20% of his money to give to the bum dead man’s floating in the Chester River, and then spilled oil all over his seafood gumbo. Yee Haw!
Well enough rambling, enjoy the post for today! Back to lighter topics tomorrow where I will start my 10 part series about the life lessons learned from Sister Act starting with “If my sister’s in trouble, I will always help her out. If my sister’s in trouble, I will turn the world around. I will fight for her right, no matter where the problems seem to lie. If my sister’s in trouble so am I, if my sister’s in trouble so am I. So am I.”
