progress update… June 4th, 2012

Ok, so the daybed thing is together and in the backyard, and Matt added that awesome little trellis part. Now, I’m working on painting it green. There are a lot of surfaces on that piece, it’s like some sort of weird Escher nightmare trying to make sure I’m not missing any of the sides of the squares. I finished up the first coat between Sunday and today… so tomorrow I will tackle the second coat (fingers crossed that’s all we need)… and also fingers crossed for the weather to cooperate. It keeps calling for rain, then I race to get some done, then I scurry inside, then nothing happens.
Wow, ok, I just looked at that last photo and thought “weird/tacky beach bar” – anyone else getting that vibe? I hope not… I think it’s just the crazy combination of greens between us and the neighbor behind us.
As far as the cushions, thank you all for the advice, input, and the sewing offer! Sooo sweet. We did a lot of searching, and went ahead and ordered an outdoor cushion and Sunbrella cover, it took me forever, but I finally found a pretty reasonable solution for what we need. I’ll post some more pics when it’s all together.

How’s the daybed coming along? I really think you should annex the neighbor’s back yard to expand your outdoor enjoyment area. I’ve got some ideas on vines to grow on your fence, too. So many ideas, so little time.

It’s coming… Still awaiting a second coat of paint, but just haven’t had time to get there yet! I would LOVE to takeover the neighbors backyard for sure. Val was suggesting the very same thing just last night…
