walking January 8th, 2012

Today we went for a walk in the woods with Ty, Val, and Tiki dog. Bowser enjoyed running way ahead of everyone and not listening to us say “COME.” His punishment was a few seconds of sitting up on this tree stump in timeout. It was pretty mild for a January day. We saw lots of holly trees and 3 deers.

life lately December 7th, 2011

Things got all busy all of a sudden! Work, school wrapping up for the semester, parties… Holiday rush. Here are some recent photos I haven’t had time to post until now.

Went shopping in Old Ellicott City with the family.

Christmas-y window displays!

We went and got our first real live Christmas tree this year. If you remember this event as a special sort of warm, fuzzy family moment, where you spend an hour wandering around a tree farm with a red wagon, and then Dad bravely cuts down the perfect tree after 45 minutes of looking–maybe there is a better one up ahead! — … well, picture the opposite. It was 9pm on Sunday evening, and I demanded that we go get a tree then, because our crazy schedules were not really free again until it was practically Christmas anyways… so, we headed to the tropical plant place on New York Ave. Picking out the perfect tree consisted of a toothless guy and his cat hustling us along through some dark rows of trees leaning in piles, and us taking the first and cheapest tree we saw that had branches. While the guy and his cat tied the tree to the top of our car, Matt paid for the tree and an extra $3 for a fresh cut on the bottom. It all happened in approximately 12 minutes. Not exactly magical. BUT! Our tree is now home, lit, decorated, and it’s perfect!

…experience complete with giant blow-up Santa.

and, Bowser. Hanging out in bed on a rainy day… BUM.

tweed ride 2011 November 14th, 2011

tweed ride, originally uploaded by machinedance.

Yesterday was the DC Tweed Ride, which we participated in again this year — this time with Bowser in tow! He was pretty popular with the crowd. I was busy filming the entire time for a short movie I put together for Bicycle Space (video coming soon!) so Matt took the little guy, in his orange coat, around for most of the ride. Don’t worry guys, he was strapped in to the box to assure there were no accidents. I hardly took any pictures at all, so I didn’t think that machinedance would mind if I posted this shot of the two dapper looking gentlemen that I love so much.

hello, November November 1st, 2011

Hope everyone had a great Halloween!! While Matt was at class last night, my mom and I had dinner here and waited for trick-or-treaters to come. In the end, we had about 8 total — a few dinosaurs and an Indian, some witches, and some teenagers without costumes. Not exactly the hoards I was hoping for, but oh well. Guess I will be eating the leftover candy until Thanksgiving!

Speaking of which, it’s hard to believe that November is here. Out with the pumpkins, in with the Christmas trees!! Here we go…

Bowser the bat-dog was tired after answering the door several times.

well, Irene is on her way here. whatever though, Bowser ain’t scared. he already made it through a 5.8 earthquake this week. there’s lots of kibble stocked up in the house, bottled tap water, a brand new bone, and a bottle of near northeast hooch (see yesterday’s post). bring it on!

what’ll you have for us next week, mother nature?

boston terrier art appreciation April 3rd, 2011

Bowser loves photography. He was jumping up and down and barking (making gremlin noises) excitedly in front of this print in our upstairs hallway for a few minutes. Finally we realized the smoke alarm on the ceiling directly above it was chirping to indicate that it’s time to change the batteries. It’s more fun though to think that our dog really likes artwork and not just beeping noises. Little guy has ups!!

Q: what is fantastic about this time of year? March 24th, 2010

puppypark

A: The puppy park! It is just an overload of cute in the springtime. Not sure whose little guy Matt captured on film here, but he is definitely a sturdy little fellow… Though he appears to be taking a break from the shenanigans… Just the other day we had someone shout at us as they walked by, asking, “Do you need someone to board your little Boston Terrier?” heheheee… why yes..

Bowser March 12th, 2010

Bowser8mo

Our little boy is growing up! Bowser turns 8-months old today, and, depending on which conversion numbers you use, that means he’s about 9-years old in human years. aww! Maybe we should throw him a birthday party themed with superheros and a trip to the rollerskating rink… Or whatever else it is that 9-year old boys enjoy, I clearly have no idea.
