Aww, boo hoo Pats fans! Sorry you lost to the Giants in the Super Bowl. Again. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like the Giants, but no one likes New England, so last nights outcome was all one could have hoped for, especially Bradshaw’s slow butt-roll into the end zone. Classic!

We watched the game at our neighbors place, with the main emphasis of the night being the food theme – everything deep fried. Of next order of importance was the halftime puppy bowl, funny commercials, then the Madonna halftime show, and then finally the actual football game. I made jalepeno poppers (photo above) stuffed with goat cheese, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon, and topped with Panko bread crumbs. They were a hit, and not as spicy as they’d seem like they’d be, but still some kick.

I was also introduced to the concept of fried macaroni and cheese balls, above, which were every bit as delicious as they’d seem. By the time the deep fried Oreo’s and bananas were coming out to be served, I was just too full.

This evenings agenda = go for a loooong run.

   

On Saturday we went with the fam to watch the Delaware vs. Navy football game in Annapolis. Ahhhhh, welcome back football season, it’s been far too long. You just have to love a good season opener — the weather is still pleasant, your team has a nice 0-0 clean slate record, tailgating is in full swing… Heaven! We set up shop with some delicious subs and cupcakes in the Park-and-Ride lot and took the shuttle buses over to the stadium at game time. Even though Delaware didn’t exactly bring their A-game, and ended up losing to Navy, it was still a great day to kick off the season, and the pre-game flyover was ahhmazing!

The road to Super Bowl 44 begins today at Redskins training camp , Day 1. Soon it will be time to dust off the Cooley jersey!

  
    
Our thanks to Mr. Zack Vogel (check out those sweet glasses) and his generous parents for putting together a delicious Mexican themed smorgasbord of a tailgate yesterday in preparation for the Terps v. Wake Forest football game.  We were unable to score tickets (thanks Jill) and watch Maryland stomp on Wake Forest in their 26-0 victory from Bryd Stadium.  This was okay though as opted to watch the game from the comforts of Lupos the Thirsty Turtle.  The game was a continuation of Maryland’s rollercoaster season that has had them shutting out ranked foes and getting shut out by teams they should have buried.   
   
Now it is Skins time.
