I took this photo this past Saturday morning while we were wandering around NoMa. We went on a little stroll (Bowser included) over to CVS to get some black-and-white film for the Pentax and I shot off half a roll before realizing the light meter wasn’t moving much and it probably needs a new battery. Sooo, might be some bad pics in there, we’ll see when I get it developed. I ordered a new battery on Amazon today. They only came in packs of 10, so I guess I am set for… EVER. If anyone needs a 1.5V silver oxide battery, hit me up. I have spares.

I also ordered some printer paper, regular envelopes, bubbly wrap envelopes, and green looseleaf tea (had to put it over $25 for the FREE SUPER-SAVER SHIPPING). Whoever is reviewing my order is going to think I’m the lamest person in the world.

Back to the photo though… looking up at the clouds and the glass, pretty hypnotizing if you stared at it long enough, especially since they were moving kinda fast. As mom would say “COOL CLOUD DAY!!!!”

I took this picture yesterday afternoon when I was on my to pick up some things at the grocery. It was close to 60 degrees outside and the sky was all blue and shiny and it felt oddly like spring. It was so warm that I had to take off my scarf and jacket on the walk back home.

And then today — today, I didn’t get out of bed today until about 5 pm…. Feeling pretty poo-ey since late yesterday afternoon after I got home. Energy zapped, fever, headache, blah. I had a really restless sleep last night too, and all sorts of crazy dreams to go with it. The kind of dreams where people you haven’t thought about in FOREVER just show up out of nowhere and hang out with you at a concert.

Anyways, Bowser kept me company in bed all day. We did a little reading (still working my way through the Steve Jobs biography) and then we watched The Red Violin on Netflix — pretty good movie, but the thing that sucks about watching movies alone is when you have so many questions and things to discuss after it’s over. Oh well.

Hopefully tomorrow I will be feeling back to norm.

This morning we went out to the Air Force Memorial. Though we’d seen it and admired its form many times driving into and out of the city, we’d never actually stopped to see it and decided to give it a closer look…. annnd probably couldn’t have picked a much colder day to do it. Still, the sky was clear blue and there were only two other groups of people out there besides us. Next we need to check it out at night when those curves are all lit up.

   

This was the crazy sunset sky at our backs last night as we waited for Screen on the Green to begin on the National Mall. We rode our bikes down after work, picnic dinner in tow, grateful that the weather was finally pleasant. The feature was 12 Angry Men, a definite classic that caused the audience to clap at the very end for the (spoiler ahead) NOT GUILTY verdict. Besides the uplifting ending, the best part of the evening was, as always, the HBO dance.

A flying geese sculpture in the Dupont Circle area… I guess this is what the view looks like if you are the goose at the back of the V.
